چکیده
Modeling of Fourier amplitude spectra (FAS) seismic motions has gained much attention in engineering seismology. In the past few years, several ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs) and inter-frequency correlation structure FAS have been established. Due to many preferable characteristics FAS, probabilistic hazard/risk analysis is rapidly changing from ergodic, spectrum acceleration Sa ( T 0 )-based approach non-ergodic, site-specific, FAS-based approach. This paper presents time domain intrusive framework for risk using GMPE FAS. Methodology stochastic modeling based on GMPEs presented some detail. The simulated uncertain are modeled as a random process represented by polynomial chaos Karhunen-Loève expansion. excitations further propagated into structural system Galerkin finite element method (SFEM). Probabilistic evolution response solved, such solution used develop any damage state. illustrated through four-story building subjected possible earthquakes two strike slip faults. influences epistemic uncertainties source stress drop Δ σ site attenuation κ investigated. need non-ergodic with source-specific specific characterizations emphasized. • Time (FAS). 1 D Time - Domain Solution for Seismic Ground Motion Prediction
A full time-domain solution for predicting earthquake ground motion based on the 1D viscoelastic shear-wave equation is presented. The derivation results in a time-domain equation in the form of an infinite impulse response filter. A solution in the time domain has several advantages including causality, direct modeling of impulsive and transient processes, and ease of inclusion of nonlinear so...
متن کاملProbabilistic Seismic Hazard Deaggregation of Ground Motion Prediction Models
Probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) combines the probabilities of all earthquake scenarios with different magnitudes and distances with predictions of resulting ground motion intensity, in order to compute seismic hazard at a site. PSHA also incorporates uncertainties in ground motion predictions, by considering multiple Ground Motion Prediction ("attenuation") Models (GMPMs). Current ...

A theoretical relation is presented between the seismological Fourier amplitude spectrumand the mean squared value of the elastic response, which is defined by Gaussian distribution. Byshifting a general process to its mean value, spectrum of the mean squared value of the displacementis computed from the Fourier amplitude spectrum and the real part of the relative displacementtransfer function ...

[1] The waves generated by faulting represent the primary threat posed by most large earthquakes. The effect of complex geological structures, such as sedimentary basins, on earthquake ground motion is a source of particular concern. We show that it is possible to extract reliable phase and amplitude response that includes the effects of complex structure for the elastodynamic Green’s function ...

Foreword The purpose of the Delta Risk Management Strategy (DRMS) Initial Technical Framework (ITF) is to guide the analysis of specific technical topics as they relate to assessing potential risks to Delta levees and assets resulting from various potential impacts (e.g., floods, earthquakes, subsidence, and climate change). These ITFs are considered " starting points " for the work that is to ...
